Three generations of Peters
In 1958 grandad Hendrik cycled round Leiden with a cargo bike full of paint. We drive vans now, but we still mix our colours with just as much pleasure.
Since 1958
Grandad Hendrik Peters started out on his own in 1958, with a cargo bike full of paint, brushes and a ladder. He painted doors and window frames on the Rapenburg and the Oude Vest, and still mixed his own colours from linseed oil and pigment.
His son Kees took over in 1989 and turned it into a proper painting firm, with a workshop and the first permanent staff. Since 2018 Bas and Marloes Peters have run it together. Bas leads the team of six permanent painters, Marloes does the colour advice and the planning.
We love colour. That is why every customer gets free colour advice, even if it is just a front door. Our favourite work is on listed buildings and the classic Leiden facade, with its sash windows, fanlights and stone mouldings.
